Art Acquisition
(714) 278-3915
The Art Acquisition Program was approved in the spring of 1991. The program is designed to provide Cal State Fullerton students exposure for their work while developing a permanent collection of art to be housed in the Titan Student Union. Every year, the Titan Student Union allocates funds designated for the purchase of student artwork for permanent display within the building. The Art Acquisition Program is open to all currently enrolled Cal State Fullerton undergraduates and graduate students. Students of all majors are encouraged to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to display their art. The program allows talented students to leave a legacy of their work at the institution.
The permanent collection of artwork is on display in various rooms throughout the Titan Student Union. Click here to view the online tour of the permanent art collection.
How to Participate in the Art Acquisition Program
The Titan Student Union acquires art by two methods: the annual Student Art Show and by proposal submissions.
Student Art Show - Fall Semester
Each fall, the Titan Student Union holds the Student Art Show. The show is open to all Cal State Fullerton students. The show is juried for cash prizes for the top entries, and is reviewed by the Art Acquisition Committee for purchase recommendations.
Acquisition by Proposal - Spring Semester
In the spring semester, based on funding and facility space availability, guidelines are developed for proposals. A call for proposals is distributed on campus, and interested artists can submit their artwork and/or concepts. Information will be posted when proposals are being accepted.
