I have been a member since March 12, 2008-the first day the SRC opened! I like to work out early in the morning which is when I function best and it's convenient given my busy work schedule! I utilize the treadmill to burn fat, weight machines to build my upper body strength, and shoulder exercises to avoid my recurring "frozen shoulder" syndrome. I enjoy seeing faculty, staff, and students starting their day with an early morning workout.

As a CSUF staff member and a former Kinesiology grad student, I have been part of the SRC community since it opened in spring 2008. Working 40 hours a week while in grad school, my days were spent here on campus – leaving little time for outside activities. Since becoming a member of the Student Recreation Center (SRC), I have conveniently and easily been able to integrate physical activity back into my daily life. I have become a healthier and more productive individual as a byproduct of my time spent at the SRC. During my lunch hour I like to participate in the Titan Cycle class, use free weights, and on a stressful day, the Flow Yoga class is perfect. As an academic advisor, I have the opportunity to meet and interact with many students in the academic setting, but I am always open to a few advising questions at the gym. So, if you see me working out and have any questions about graduation, general education requirements, or even if you would like to challenge me to a game of racquetball, do not hesitate to ask!

I love to swim at the SRC. The environment is beautiful and the lifeguards are so nice and helpful. I love that every semester they offer the 'Swim to Catalina/English Channel' to help motivate you to swim more. This helps me set personal goals for myself and swim more with my husband. :)

I started working with James long before my wedding day. Like all brides, I wanted to look my best, even if it was only for a day. During my time with him I lost 6.5" and 8% body fat. He helped me with basic nutrition and was knowledgeable and fun to work with. I never did the same workout twice. Even after the wedding I continued to work with James because every time I come to see him I never know what we're going to do next! Not only are his workouts a physical release, but they are a mental release too!

As a student at Cal State Fullerton I have participated in Intramural Sports every semester. The leagues are well organized compared to other community leagues I have played in and the staff and referees have been well trained with background knowledge on their sport. The overall environment is fun and competitive. It's a good way to relieve the stress of school and work, especially if you win. YBR!

I love coming to Belly Dance class. It is good exercise and very fun. It is a graceful and sensual dance form that makes me feel free and confident and beautiful. Thank you to all my classmates and most definitely my teacher! <3

I have participated in the salsa instructional class at the Student Recreation Center for approximately two years and I love it! Since I live away from home, I did not know many people my first year at CSUF. However, I have become more sociable and I have increased my group of friends, which helped me feel part of a community on campus. Learning to dance was not easy for me, but the instructor always maintained patience and confidence in me, which motivated me to attend class and improve. Each salsa class is fun and exciting because the instructor simplifies new combinations and style moves that I can use at a club.
